So if you're trying to land an athletic scholarship, you can be sure that there's more than one for your event, whether it's basketball, soccer, fencing, rowing, and roman wrestling just to mention a few.

The very first thing you can do is polish your athletic capabilities when you are still in high school. By doing this, you are supposed to train hard and well so that you can shine throughout your high school career. If you complete more than what's expected from you, you will unquestionably get the nod of your coach and the focus of college sports scouts. Being scouted means you're making some noise and gathering popularity. It isn't a guarantee however.

Don't assume all student athletes are going to be scouted, especially if you attend a not so prolific high school institution. To increase your chances of getting noticed, cut some paper clippings displaying your success and make a video of your game performances and send them to the colleges and universities you would like to go to. When making the video, make sure you include the games where you truly excelled.

Not quite his selection for college but he went anyway and managed to graduate with a degree and became among the best point guards in the National Basketball Association.

You may or might not attend the university of your choice, but being given the opportunity to do so through a college tuition grant or an academic scholarship, it is advisable not to be picky if you don't have so many choices.
